Premature Ejaculation – Can’t Stop When You Pop?

When a man ejaculates during sexual activity earlier than he or his partner would prefer, the condition is known as premature ejaculation (PE). Both the parties typically experience a mutual kind of stress from the sense that they might not have been fully satisfied. The good news is that this stress can be avoided, because we can now treat PE.

Premature Ejaculation – More common than you think!

You are not alone. In fact, the most typical sexual issue confronting males is premature ejaculation, with 1 in 3 men experiencing it.

So, why can’t you last longer in bed? There are 2 main reasons why you cannot last longer in bed:

  • You have difficulty getting or sustaining an erection. This problem is called erectile dysfunctionor ED.
  • You have no problems getting hard or sustaining your erection, but the moment you begin penetration you ejaculate soon after. This is Premature Ejaculation (PE)

Psychological factors tend to more play a more common role in many PE, while physical issues are rare. The most typical psychological elements include:

  • Relationship issues
  • Poor body image
  • Early sexual encounters
  • Anxiety
  • Depression

If we want to look at potential biological factors, they could be:

  • Abnormal hormone levels
  • Inflammation and infection of the prostate or urethra

Is there a remedy for premature ejaculation?

If your premature ejaculation stems from psychological factors, we urge you to consult your doctor and work with him to find a solution to your issue. With help from professionals, therapy and effort, you can overcome PE and look forward to an even better sexual relationship with your spouse.

When Should I Get Help?

If you do not think that your PE stems from psychological factors, it is recommended that you visit a doctor to seek medical assistance. This is especially so if you experience any or all of the following:

  • Frequently or always ejaculate within a minute of penetration.
  • Almost never able to prolong ejaculation.
  • One or both of you are upset about how this issue affects your ability to have romantic intimacy.

Options for Premature Ejaculation Treatment

Premature ejaculation can be treated with behavioural techniques, topical creams, and oral medications.

It may take some time to treat Premature Ejaculation, so be patient and find the treatment that works best for you. For the best results, it is recommended that you combine behavioural techniques and medication.

Behavioural Methods

The following methods may help to postpone ejaculation:

  • Masturbate 1-2 hours before intercourse
  • Sexual satisfaction can happen without penetration. Therefore, concentrate on other forms of sexual play besides intercourse or penetration.
  • Practice delaying ejaculation during masturbation by increasing the duration of the delay each time you masturbate.

Oral Medication

There is currently only one officially available medicine for the treatment of PE. At the same time, a doctor may prescribe erectile dysfunction medication if he thinks ED is the cause of your issue. Studies have shown that taking both medications together is extremely effective for treating premature ejaculation, even if you do not have erectile dysfunction. Doctors can also prescribe pain relievers, which can delay ejaculation.

These prescription medications are usually taken before intercourse.
